New Oddin.gg green offices in the style of Norse mythology
Their new offices in the “Port 7” mixed-use complex in Holešovice are decorated in the style of the god Odin, one of the most important gods in the Norse pantheon. Known primarily as the god of wisdom, war, magic and poetry, Odin is often portrayed as a highly intelligent and strategic god who can use knowledge and magic to achieve his goals, which translates perfectly to Oddin.gg's current role in the esports and betting industry. The new premises present a unique and original concept of the working environment, where every detail, from the green plants to the innovative design, focuses on maximum comfort and inspiration for their employees.
Planters representing massive wooden stumps are used for individual plants of Ficus Lyrata, Araucaria and the Schefflera tree style. The kitchen area is planted with pots of climbing Scindapsus of various species, which will grow back over time to form rich overhanging drifts.
Araucária as a symbol of wisdom, enduring power and connection to nature
The Araucária plant corresponds perfectly with the style of Norse mythology, especially thanks to its imposing and mysterious aesthetic. This plant has a unique appearance with distinctive pointed branches that resemble the strong branches of trees. In Norse mythology, trees are often highly symbolic. It is a plant that evokes an impression of strength and resilience, which fits perfectly in the context of the Norse gods who ruled the forces of nature and the elements. This plant also has longevity, which adds to its mystique.
Ficus Lyrata has beautiful large glossy leaves in the shape of lyrical notes. This plant is aesthetically very attractive. With its broad leaves, it resembles mythical trees and symbolises the connection between nature and the modern world. Moreover, with its elegant massive leaves it exudes an impression of majesty and stability, qualities that are also befitting of the god Odin.
We chose these plants as ideal to combine contemporary office trends with traditional mythological and natural elements.
The majesty of the forest in the form of moss walls
Flat slabs of stabilised moss are used under the TV screens in the meeting rooms. Moss is a great feature for spaces without daylight and requires no maintenance.
Silent booths decorated with lichen
They fit perfectly into the overall office atmosphere. Lichen moss has a long history of symbolism in Nordic nature and hold the magic and mystique of the Nordic world.
Artificial plants as living
The current quality of artificial plants has improved significantly with plants more realistic than ever before. The high level of detail, the fidelity of the shape and texture of the leaves, as well as the natural appearance of the colours, is now at such a level that many people mistake artificial plants for living ones. This is why they are often designed specifically for harder to reach places that would require regular maintenance, usually at high height levels. They do not lose their beauty even with limited light or temperature changes. These characteristics make artificial plants an increasingly popular choice for architects and designers, as they offer not only visual appeal but also long-term sustainability and practicality.
